The largest himmeli ornament is 5.96 m³ (210 ft³ 821 in³) and was achieved by the Estonian Folk Art and Craft Union (Estonia) in Tallinn, Estonia, on 10 November 2019.
Crafting himmeli ornaments is a long tradition in Estonia. The Estonian Folk Art and Craft Union decided to make this attempt to popularise the eco-friendly craft. They used common reed found on Estonian coastlines to construct the ornament.
They broke this record at the St Martin's Day Fair, which is Estonia's largest handicraft and folkloric lifestyle event.
