Largest production budget for a movie

According to The-Numbers.com, the largest production budget given to a movie is $425 million (£246.5 million) to Avatar (2009), directed by James Cameron (Canada), with production proper beginning in early 2006. The film was initially released on 10 December 2009 and would go on to become the highest-grossing movie of all time, with box-office takings of more than $2.7 billion (£1.7 billion).

Joint in second place for the highest production budget are Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007) and the 24th Bond movie Spectre (2015), both tied on $300 million (£192.4 million).
