The Japanese gamer known as “ちゃがま” (“Chagama”), which loosely translates as “teakettle”, has created a suite of courses for Super Mario Maker (Nintendo EAD, 2015) that have collectively netted him a mind-boggling total of 1,194,891 stars from fellow players and propelled him to the top of the game’s content creator rankings as of 21 March 2016.

UCG stands for "user generated content". This usually takes the form of extra levels created for the game by other users. The way in which players express their approval for these levels varies from game to game – in Super Mario Maker, users award each other stars to denote the content that is liked best.

Teakettle looks set to retain the record for some time: to date, they are over a quarter of a million stars ahead of his, or her, nearest rival, another Japanese gamer, known as “Kanade > _ < Nyaha”.
