Voges did not bat in the rain-affected Third Test against Australia on 3–7 January 2016.
In each of the three Tests, Voges batted only once.

Voges averaged an incredible 105.58 runs per innings from 14 Test matches immediately before his dismissal for 239 in Wellington. After he was out, his batting average stood at 97.46. Legendary Australian batsman Donald Bradman (1908–2001) posted a career average of 99.94 runs per innings in 52 Test matches in 1928–48. After 14 Test matches, that average stood at 94.45.
New Zealand spinner Mark Craig was the player who brought Voges' unbeaten scoring run to an end – one of a record-equalling four caught-and-bowled dismissals in the Australian innings.
