Taking part in a blindfolded two-man race at the 2015 Summer Games Done Quick event in July 2015, US speed-runner “Shenanagans” romped to the end of the 1996 Game Boy JRPG Pokémon Blue in 25 minutes 53 seconds. He had been competing against his opponent “Keizaron” (USA) in a glitched run of the game.
The run involved a number of odd but unique glitches.
Event organizer Christopher Grant pointed out that the run was unique as it was done on an RPG rather than a platformer, which is traditionally more common for blindfolded speed-runs. "It has a ton of variability, and the runners can't do basic tasks like checking the stats of their Pokémon or confirm that they're menuing correctly,” he said.
