First ODI series win for an associate ICC member against a full (Test-playing) member

Afghanistan's historic 3–2 series win in Zimbabwe in October 2015 marked the first time an associate ICC (International Cricket Council) member had won a One-Day International (ODI) series against one of the ICC's 10 Test-playing nations. An associate member since 2013, Afghanistan came back from 2–1 down against the team currently 10th in the ICC's ODI rankings.

With the series tied at 2–2, Afghanistan won the fifth and deciding match by 73 runs at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, on 24 October 2015.

The first match of the series took place on 16 October 2015. All five matches were hosted by Queens Sports Club.

As of 24 October 2015, Afghanistan had won six of their first 20 ODIs against Test-playing nations – five of them against Zimbabwe and the other against Bangladesh.
