Most runs scored by teams in a One-Day International series

England (1,617 runs) and New Zealand (1,534 runs) scored a combined total of 3,151 runs in their five-match One-Day International (ODI) series in England in June 2015. Highlights included England's highest ever score in an ODI (408 for 9 in the first match at Edgbaston) and their highest successful run chase in an ODI (350 for 3 in the fourth match at Trent Bridge), as well as centuries by England's Jos Buttler, Joe Root (2) and Eoin Morgan and New Zealand's Ross Taylor (2) and Kane Williamson. England's 1,617 runs was also highest total by any team in a five-match series, while New Zealand beat their previous best total. England won the series 3–2.

Pakistan and India served up 2,963 runs in their five-match ODI series in 2003–04, which was previously the most run-heavy ODI series on record.

The series also featured the most boundaries in a five-match ODI series (390), including 209 by England – the most by one team in a five-match ODI series.

The series' run rate of 7.15 runs per over is comfortably the highest in any ODI series of two or more matches, beating the 6.64 runs per over achieved by India and Australia in their five-match series in 2013–14.

Two matches in the series feature among the 10 matches with the highest aggregate scores in ODI history – the 763 runs scored at The Oval on 12 June 2015 (#3 of all time) and the 699 runs scored at Trent Bridge on 17 June 2015 (#10).
