According to estimates published by Forbes on 11 June 2019, Roger Federer (Switzerland) earned $93.4 million (£74.04 million) in the year to 1 June 2019 – the highest amount earned by a tennis player in any 12-month period. The 20-time Grand Slam winner made "just" $7.4 million (£5.86 million) in prize money, with the remaining $86 million (£68.17 million) earned from endorsements.
Federer, whose earnings totalled a then-record $77.2 million (£58.43 million) in Forbes’ 2017–18 survey, was the highest-ranked tennis player (for the 13th consecutive year) and the fifth-highest-paid athlete overall, behind soccer players Lionel Messi ($127 million), Cristiano Ronaldo ($109 million) and Neymar ($105 million) and boxer Canelo Alvarez ($94 million).
Novak Djokovic ($50.6 million; £40.11 million), Kei Nishikori ($37.3 million; £29.56 million), Rafael Nadal ($35 million; £27.74 million) and Serena Williams ($29.2 million; £23.14 million) were the other tennis players featured in the top 100 highest-paid athletes for the 12 months to 1 June 2019.
