A jump-scare is typically a sudden or unexpected moment, deliberately designed to make the player jump.
Such has been the popularity of the jump-scares in the game, there were some 350–400 jump-scare compilations from the videogame on YouTube alone, as of 21 September 2015 – less than one month after the game's release. One of the main compilers and fans was YouTube megastar PewDiePie.
