As of September 2015, there had been eight official arcade games based on the Star Wars franchise. In chronological order, these were the original vector classic Star Wars (Atari; 1983), Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (Atari; 1984), Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (Atari; 1985), Star Wars Arcade (Sega; 1993), Star Wars Trilogy Arcade (Sega; 1998), Star Wars Racer Arcade (Sega; 2000), Star Wars Starfighter (Tsunami Visual Tech; 2003), and the Star Wars: Battle Pod (Bandai Namco; 2014).
There was also an unlicensed Star Wars arcade game released in 1979 (manufacturer unknown), which was a bootleg of the popular Galaxy Wars (Taito; 1979).
In addition, there have also been four official Star Wars pinball machines as of the same date, including The Empire Strikes Back Pinball (A. Hankin; 1980), Star Wars Pinball (Data East; 1992), Star Wars Trilogy Pinball (Sega Pinball; 1997) and Star Wars Episode I Pinball (WMS; 1999).
