The longest Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series game lasted 18 innings and occurred twice in baseball history. The first time was when the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Boston Red Sox, 3-2, in Game Three of the 2018 World Series on 27 October 2018. The second instance also involved the Dodgers, this time defeating the Toronto Blue Jays (Canada) in Game Three of the 2025 World Series on 27 October 2025.
In a quirk of fate, perhaps, or just coincidence, it was country music singing star Brad Paisley who sang the national anthem prior to each 18-inning game!
