Taking from 2011 to 2015 to construct, "Titanoboa Robot" is the world's largest robot snake. Measuring 50 ft (15m) and weighing 1,750 lb (800 kg), the robot is powered by lithium batteries driving a hydraulic system under the guidance of eight microcontrollers to mimic the motion of a natural snake. The robot was modelled to represent the true-life size of the now-extinct Titanoboa snake that exists in fossil evidence. Created by a large team of scientists, engineers, technicians and funders, the snake is regularly displayed at events in North America, promoting climate-change events as well as creating a dance-floor sensation at various festivals.
