The youngest manager to win the football (soccer) Copa Libertadores is Paulo César Carpegiani (Brazil, b. 7 February 1949), who was aged 32 years 289 days when Flamengo (Brazil) defeated Cobreloa (Chile) in a playoff at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, Uruguay, on 23 November 1981.
Just one year prior to Carpegiani's achievement, Juan Mujica of Uruguay had set this record with Nacional. He was aged 36 when they won the tournament in August 1980. There have been several winners under 40, the most recent being Marcelo Gallardo (Argentina) who won the 2015 edition with River Plate aged 39 years and 7 months.
