The fastest goal scored in a Bundesliga football match is 9 seconds and was first achieved by Karim Bellarabi (Germay) playing for Bayer 04 Leverkusen against Borussia Dortmund at Westfalenstadion, Dortmund, Germany, on 23 August 2014. This feat was equalled by Kevin Volland (Germany) playing for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim against Bayern Munich at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena in Sinsheim, Germany, on 22 August 2015.
The Bundesliga have suggested that Volland's goal was miliseconds faster than Bellarabi's but they only keep official records to the nearest second so have confirmed that Volland and Bellarabi, who are good friends, share this achievement.
The previous record was 11 seconds first set in 1998 by Brazilian Giovane Elber and equalled on two occasions by Ulf Kirsten and then Paul Freier.
