Milli Proust explained that "The teasel was grown naturally in my garden, where it self-seeded from an original batch of seeds I purchased from Nature Scape in 2020." Milli runs a speciality cut flower seed business and writes books on gardening and rewilding. She's "passionate about encouraging people to interact with nature and grow plants in harmony with their environment. The teasel is a beloved wildflower in the UK, known for its ecological benefits, especially in supporting pollinators and birds. Having grown what is now the tallest recorded teasel is a wonderful way to increase engagement with growing and wildlife-friendly gardening. I plan to save seeds from this record-breaking teasel and encourage others to grow alongside me next year."
