The NHL record for most teams played for in a single season is four. This has been set by three different players. The first was Dennis O’Brien (Canada) playing for the Minnesota North Stars, Colorado Rockies, Cleveland Barons and Boston Bruins (all USA) during the 1977-1978 season. The second was Dave McLlwain (Canada) playing for the Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs (both Canada), New York Islanders and Buffalo Sabres (both USA) during the 1991-1992 season. The third and most recent was Mark Arcobello (USA) playing for the Edmonton Oilers (Canada), Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins and Arizona Coyotes (all USA) during the 2014-2015 season.
