Puerto Rican hip-hop duo Calle 13 (stepbrothers Eduardo “Visitante” Cabra and René “Residente” Pérez) picked up 22 trophies at the Latin Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist (2006), Album of the Year (Los de Atrás Vienen Conmigo in 2009 and Entren Los Que Quieran in 2011), Record of the Year (“No Hay Nadie Como Tú” in 2009 and “Latinoamérica” in 2011) and Song of the Year (“Latinoamérica” in 2011).

At the 12th Latin Grammy Awards in 2011, Calle 13 won a single-year record nine awards (from 10 nominations). All nine wins related to their fourth studio album Entren Los Que Quieran, including the prestigious Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year (both for “Latinoamérica”) prizes.

Multi-instrumentalist/composer/producer “Visitante” and rapper/producer/music video director/film-maker “Residente” have also won individual Latin Grammy awards under their own names.

The duo put Calle 13 on hiatus at the end of their Multi_Viral world tour (in support of their fifth studio album of the same name, released in March 2014) to concentrate on solo projects.
