Following its initial release on 8 August 2014 for PC (and later for mobiles), the point-and-click survival horror videogame Five Nights at Freddy's had enjoyed three further full-sized sequels released in less than a year. The most recent game, Five Nights at Freddy's 4, was released for PC on 23 July 2015, followed by mobile platforms soon after. Making this feat even more incredible is that these indie games are the work of just one man – American videogames designer Scott Cawthon.

Sequels in this record category must be considered to be "full games" in order to be eligible.

Such is the cult popularity of Five Nights at Freddy's, it was announced in April 2015 that Warner Bros. had acquired movie rights to make a film based on the series.
