Inaugurated in 1988, the FINA Swimming World Cup is an annual series of international swimming meets.

Le Clos won five races across the three World Cup meets in 2022 to take his career total past 150. He has won the overall series title on four occasions (2011, 2013, 2014 and 2017), more than any other male swimmer. Le Clos has also claimed 55 silver and 16 bronze World Cup medals, for a total of 222.
