The most wins of the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament (inaugurated 1978) is nine by Dan Feyer (USA) in 2010–15, 2017, 2019 and 2023. Winning a grand prize of $7,000, Feyer's most recent victory saw him overcome a record field of 774 competitors at the Stamford Marriott Hotel in Connecticut, USA, on 31 March–2 April 2023.
Feyer also holds the record for most consecutive ACPT wins: six times between 2010 and 2015.
To date, the next most successful solver at the ACPT is Jon Delfin (USA) with seven wins in 1989–91, 1995, 1999 and 2001–02.
The ACPT is the USA's largest and longest-running crossword competition, attracting between 500 and 600 entrants each year, although the number of entrants peaked in 2023 with 774 solvers.
