Wave Rock is 110 m long and 11–12 m high, giving it an approximate exposed area of 1,210–1,320 square metres. It is located on the north face of Hyden Rock in Hyden, Western Australia. Wave rock is composed of granite dating back 2.7 billion years. It was formed by the granite being eroded by acidic conditions in the soil that used to cover it, rather than water erosion.

It is part of the Yilgarn craton, which is part of the original Australian landmass.
