On 31 August 2025, it was confirmed that Spotify’s most streamed track, “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd (Canada, b. Abel Tesfaye), had reached 5 billion streams on the platform. “Blinding Lights” was the second single to be released from The Weeknd’s fourth studio album, After Hours (2020).
After Hours was made available for streaming on Spotify on 20 March 2020 and contains five of the 28 tracks by The Weeknd that had reached the 1-billion mark on Spotify, as of 31 August 2025.
