No female celebrity has won more blimps at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards (KCA’s) than Selena Gomez (USA), who collected 11 awards between 2009 and 2019: Favorite TV Actress, for playing Alex Russo in Wizards of Waverly Place (2009-13); Favorite Female Artist (2012, 2014-15 and 2017), the KCA Fan Army award for her “Selenators” (2014), and Favorite Female Voice from an Animated Movie, for playing Mavis in Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2019). Gomez and actor/singer Will Smith (USA) – also the proud owner of an 11-blimp trophy cabinet as of the 35th edition of the KCA’s in 2022 – have amassed more trophies at the world’s slimiest awards show than any other individuals, with Smith also leading the nominations (27 since 1989). Gomez has attracted 21 nominations since 2009.
Ariana Grande has won nine KCA blimps (2014-22), eight of which have been for music and one for acting (compared with Selena’s five music awards and six for acting).
Gomez’s most recent nominations were in 2021, for Favorite Female Artist (her 10th nod in the category) and Favorite Music Collaboration (“Ice Cream”, feat. BLACKPINK). She has also picked up nominations for Nickelodeon’s sister awards shows in Argentina (one music award), Australia (two acting awards), Colombia and Mexico.
