The oldest goalscorer in a football (soccer) FIFA Women's World Cup is Miraildes Maciel Mota a.k.a Formiga (Brazil, b.3 March 1978), who scored Brazil's opening goal of the 2015 Women's World Cup against South Korea aged 37 years 98 days in Montreal, Canada, on 9 June 2015. Formiga was appearing at her sixth World Cup – a record she shares with Japanese striker Homare Sawa.
