The long-running Nickelodeon-backed Kids' Choice Awards, which started in 1988, included a category for "Favorite Book" from 1995 to 2016. Harry Potter writer J. K. Rowling (UK, aka Joanne Rowling) won seven times, in 2000–02, 2004 and 2006–08.
The male record is held by Diary of a Wimpy Kid creator Jeff Kinney (USA), who took home the coveted "blimp" in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016.
The first winner of the "Favorite Book" category at the Kids' Choice Awards in 1995 was R L Stine (USA) with Deep Trouble, part of the hugely popular Goosebumps series.
