The most full contact punch strikes in one minute holding 1 kg weights (male) is 675, and was achieved by Muhammad Rashid (Pakistan) in Karachi, Pakistan, on 9 January 2021.

Muhammad was first inspired to take up martial arts after watching an expert who would soon become his teacher. "He was very strong and I could not do even a single push up at that time. When I saw him performing in championship then I decided that I would start martial arts and would become just like him."

He is now a seasoned record-breaker so when asked what inspires him to keep breaking new titles, he said that his father always hoped he'd achieve something great for their country. This is why Muhammad dedicates all the records he breaks to Pakistan and to putting out a positive image of the country and its people.

We also asked Muhammad what the hardest record to break was and he said that the most double nunchaku strikes in one minute was the trickiest to master. It took him over a year of practice before he was fast enough to get his record title.

The message he wants to pass on to any aspiring martial artists is that getting good at your chosen field takes a lot of dedication. Muhammad himself still dedicates a few hours each day to practicing his art in order to maintain his skills.

When asked how his life changed since becoming a record-breaker, Muhammad said he started gaining respect, especially in the field of martial arts. "People started considering me as a star." He has even been referred to as the Pride of Pakistan. "These words, recognition really give me pleasure, calm and motivation to do more and more for my beloved country"
