Dorothy acts as co-driver/navigator for her son, Alastair Caldwell, who is a former manager of the McLaren Formula 1 team. Dorothy completed her first rally in Suffolk, UK, in 2011. Since then the pair have completed the Road to Mandalay and the Trans-America Challenge. The pair compete in their Rolls Royce Silver Phantom III.
