Misbah-ul-Haq (Pakistan, b. 28 May 1974) was 40 years 158 days old when he completed back-to-back hundreds in a Test match against Australia at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on 2 November 2014. Pakistan captain Misbah scored 101 off 168 balls on 31 October 2014 and 101 not out off 57 balls on 2 November 2014 to beat the 'oldest' record held by Australian skipper Don Bradman (b. 27 August 1908) since 3 January 1948, when he notched up his second hundred (127 not out) - after his first innings score of 132 - in a match against India at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia, at the age of 39 years 129 days. Bradman's record had stood for 66 years 303 days.

Misbah's second hundred was made off just 56 balls (including 11 fours and five sixes) - the fastest Test match hundred (male), a record shared with Viv Richards (Antigua), whose 56-ball century came against England at Antigua Recreation Ground in St John's, Antigua, on 15 April 1986. In the same innings, Misbah took just 21 balls (including four fours and four sixes) to reach 50 runs - the fastest fifty in Test match history.

Misbah's achievement was also the first time that a captain had reached three figures in both innings of a Test match against Australia.
