As of 7 July 2026, Lee “Faker” Sang Hyeok (South Korea) retains his record as the highest-earning professional League of Legends (2009, Riot Games) esports player. Faker's career earnings from the multiplayer online battle arena videogame currently stand at a massive $1,922,085 (£1,438,703).
Faker has maintained his record-breaking status for several years now. His most successful year was 2016, and he most recently (along with his team) came third in the 2025 LOL Esports World Cup. He plays for Korean esports team T1 (which was known as SK Telecom T1, abbreviated as "SKT T1", until 2019).
