Perhaps unsurprisingly, it was creator Markus Persson who posted YouTube’s first Minecraft video, on 13 May 2009. The game was at such an early stage that Persson had yet to decide upon a name for his creation, and the video’s block-based action was simply referred to as “Cave game tech test”.
