The most siblings to climb an 8,000-m (26,246-ft) mountain together is five, by brothers Muktu Lakpa Sherpa, Pechhumbe Sherpa, Ngima Dorchi Sherpa and Ang Dawa Sherpa, and sister Pasang Yangji Sherpa (all Nepal), who climbed the fifth highest mountain, Makalu I (8,485 m; 27,837 ft) on 9 May 2025.
The five siblings are the children of Ngima Ongjuk Sherpa and Ongmu Sherpa. They arrived together at the summit of Makalu at 7.30 am. All five used supplementary oxygen. They were accompanied on the climb by Muktu Sherpa's 23-year-old daughter, Anima Sherpa.
