The highest unclimbed mountain where climbing is not prohibited is an unnamed mountain in the Lapche Kang range in southern Tibet, at c. 7,250 m (23,786 ft). It took the record on 24 August 2011, when the previous record holder, Saser Kangri II (7,518 m; 24,665 ft), located in India, was climbed to its highest southeast peak by Mark Richey, Steve Swenson and Freddie Wilkinson (all USA).
