Best-selling PlayStation console

Of the four home PlayStation consoles, as well as several handhelds, released to date, none has sold more than the PlayStation 2 which launched in 2000. By 24 April 2015, the PS2 had shifted 157.68 million units, according to VGChartz. Reports suggest production of the PS2 ended altogether in 2013, although many people still own and play on the console. The next best-selling PS console was the original PlayStation, released in 1994; it sold an estimated 104.25 million units during its lifetime in production.
