A formidable goal machine in the English Premier League, Belgian striker Christian Benteke was also the most transferred player in Ultimate Team on FIFA 14. Ultimate Team is the popular fantasy mode that was first introduced in FIFA 09, and challenges players to assemble their best real-life squads on a budget, which they can then use to compete in online and offline tournaments. According to online player stats released by EA in the build-up to the 2014 World Cup, Benteke was ranked the number one most transferred player in the game. Ranked second was Felipe Santana (Brazil) followed by Ignazio Abate (Italy) in third place. Figures were correct as of 21 November 2013. EA also revealed that there had been 1.46 billion transfers made in FIFA 14's Ultimate Team, as of 19 March 2014, with 542,000 transfers made per hour.
