On 10 March 2015, Finnish speed-runner "Vallu" completed Super Mario 3D World for WiiU (Nintendo EAD Tokyo, 2013) in a time of 1 hour 41 minutes 18 seconds.
In the wake of the success of title Super Mario 3D Land (Nintendo EAD Tokyo, 2011) on the 3DS, a sequel was inevitable. What was slightly more surprising was that that sequel, Super Mario 3D World (Nintendo EAD Tokyo, 2013) was for the WiiU home console rather than the handheld.
