Feldspar is a mineral which crystallizes in magma and has the formula KAlSi3O8-NaAlSi3O8-CaAl2Si2O8. Along with quartz and mica it is one of the main constituents of the rock granite. Feldspar has numerous varieties including plagioclase, orthoclase, albite and anorthosite, making up around 60% of all rocks in Earth’s crust.
