In 2013 the US Energy Information Administration published its analysis of global shale gas reserves. China has the largest – with an estimated 31.57 trillion cubic metres of shale gas – which is technically recoverable with today’s technologies. Second is Argentina, with 22.71 trillion cubic metres.
