The highest margin of victory in a Copa America match is 12 and was achieved by Argentina, who defeated Ecuador 12–0 at the Estadio Centenario, Montevideo, Uruguay, on 22 January 1942. Ecuador lost all six games in this tournament and had already been defeated in their opener 7–0 by Uruguay, who scored all seven goals in the first half. They were 6–0 down by half-time against Argentina, with Manuel Moreno netting four goals (he would score five in total), Enrique Garcia, Adolfo Pedernera, Angel Perruca and Herminio Masantonio (4) would contribute the other goals. Argentina managed an 11–0 win against Venezuela in 1975 while Brazil are the only other side to reach double figures beating Bolivia 10–1 in 1949.
