According to the TorrentFreak – a site founded by Ernesto Van Der Sar to provide news about filesharing, copyright and privacy – the most popular visited torrent filesharing site at the beginning of 2015 was KickassTorrents. A former (and consistent) holder of the top rank since 2008 was the Pirate Bay site, which was raided by Swedish police in December 2014 and was not serving torrents as of the beginning of 2015. KickAssTorrents also headed the January 2015 list compiled by eBiz, the eBusiness Guide, with an estimated unique monthly visitor metric of 30 million.
