The tallest international rugby union player ever is Richard Metcalfe (UK), who measures 2.13 metres (7 ft) in height and represented Scotland in nine matches from 2 April 2000 to 3 March 2001.
Metcalfe played as a lock in the second row. He weighed 20 stone and played club rugby for Newcastle Falcons, Northampton Saints and Edinburgh Reivers among others. He made his debut in Scotland's Calcutta Cup win over England in the 2000 Six Nations and also scored a try against New Zealand that same year.
