The most appearances by a team in the women's Rugby Union World Cup Final is seven, achieved by England in 1991, 1994 and 2002–17. England have featured in every Rugby World Cup Final bar 1998, which was contested between New Zealand and the United States. They have won the trophy on two occasions (1994 and 2014), losing to the United States in 1991 and to New Zealand four times (2002–10, 2017).

New Zealand have played in five finals, the United States in three, while Canada reached their first in 2014.
