The Window of the World theme park in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, spreads across 48 ha (118.61 acres), and contains highly detailed scale replicas of over 130 of the world’s most famous buildings, landscapes and heritage sites. In a single day, visitors can see reproductions of world-renowned attractions such as the the Angkor Wat, Eiffel Tower, Leaning Tower of Pisa and Egyptian pyramids, as well as the Niagara Falls, Grand Canyon and Matterhorn. Not all of these are miniature in size – the “Eiffel Tower”, for example, is 108 m (354 ft 3.96 in) tall, about 1/3 of the original. First opened in the 1990s, the theme park is divided into eight scenic areas: World Square, Asia, Europe, Oceania, Africa, America, Sculpture Park and International Street. The Window of the World also offers a 4,000-m² (43055-ft²) indoor alpine ski slope, an archery field, and a cable car ride through a tropical forest. Evening entertainment shows are also put on every day.
