The largest data centre complex, or "campus", spread across a number of facilities, is the Switch SuperNAP in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, with a total floor area of 2.2 million square feet (204,386 square metres). Las Vegas is considered to be within one of the safest regions in the world as natural disasters like hurricanes, floods and earthquakes are a rare event.
The largest data centre (single building) is currently the Lakeside Technology Center (350 East Cermak), in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
A new facility called the Range International Information Hub currently under construction in Langfang, China, will be an estimated 6.3 million square feet, which will surpass the Switch SuperNAP; it is scheduled to open in 2016.
