The most consecutive MotoGP wins in a season by an individual is 10 and was first achieved by Giacomo Agostini (Italy) in 1968 – a feat he repeated in 1969 and 1970. The achievement was equalled by Mick Doohan (Australia) in 1997 and most recently by Marc Márquez (Spain) from 23 March to 10 August 2014.
Márquez had an incredible start to the season, winning 10 consecutive races until Dani Pedrosa won the 11th Grand Prix of the season in Brno, Czech Republic. In 2013 Márquez had become the youngest ever winner of the MotoGP championships. Mick Doohan had won the fourth to 13th races of the 1997 season while Giacomo Agostini won all 10 races of the 1968 season and the first 10 races of the 1969 season, which had been extended to 12 races and the first 10 races of the 11-race-long 1970 season.
