The most UCI Track Cycling World Championships gold medals won in men's team pursuit by a country is 10 and was achieved by Australia from 1993 to 2014. The Team Pursuit was given elite status in 1993 and Australia won the first gold that year and again in 1995. They picked up three consecutive golds from 2002–04 before winning again in 2006. They have since won back-to-back in 2010–11 and 2013–14. Great Britain are their closest rivals, with four gold medals.
