Largest collection of corkscrews

The largest collection of corkscrews numbers 23,965 pieces, acquired by Ion Chirescu (Romania) in Bucharest, Romania on 18 June 2015.

Chirescu began his collection in 2005, and plans to eventually open a corkscrew museum. His favorite corkscrew is a 1839 Victorian patented spring model, made from iron used in a pillar of the old London Bridge, the medieval structure of nursery rhyme fame that was demolished in 1831 after standing for hundreds of years.
