The youngest person to achieve a fifth dan level in kendama is Nobutaka Tazaki (Japan, b. 25 April 2015), who was 4 years and 290 days old when he passed the qualifying exam in Nishiyodogawa, Osaka, Japan, on 9 February 2020.
Nobutaka Tazaki is also the current record holder of the youngest person to achieve a first dan level in kendama, which he passed the test at the age of 4 years and 30 days in Myozai, Tokushima, Japan, on 25 May 2019.
