The longest-surviving Janus cat is Frank and Louie, from Massachusetts, USA, which reached 15 years 87 days of age on 4 December 2014, when it died of cancer, thereby outliving all other recorded specimens. Having been diagnosed with a severe cancer, Frank and Louie was euthanised on 4 December 2014 at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tuft's University in Grafton, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA.

Frank and Louie had been adopted by owner Marty on 8 September 1999 at one day old, having been born very early that morning.
