Barbra Streisand (USA) is the only act with US No.1 albums in each of the last six decades. The veteran singer's 10th Billboard 200 chart-topper, Partners, debuted at No.1 on 4 October 2014, extending a sequence that had begun almost 50 years previously. On the chart dated 31 October 1964, People became Streisand's first US No.1, and she followed it up by crowning the countdown in the 1970s (The Way We Were, 1974; A Star is Born (soundtrack), 1976; Barbra Streisand's Greatest Hits - Volume 2, 1978), 1980s (Guilty, 1980; The Broadway Album, 1985), 1990s (Back to Broadway, 1993; Higher Ground, 1997) and 2000s (Love is the Answer, 2009). Streisand has had more US No.1 albums than any other female. Only three acts have achieved more US No.1 albums than Barbra Streisand: The Beatles (UK, 19 No.1s), Jay Z (USA, 13) and Bruce Springsteen (USA, 11). Elvis Presley has also notched up 10 No.1s. Madonna (USA) is the highest-ranked female after Streisand with eight US chart-toppers (1984-2012).

Partners also gives Streisand the longest span of No.1 albums on the Billboard 200 - 49 years 338 days. The previous record was held by Elvis Presley, whose self-titled album spent the first of 10 weeks at No.1 on 5 May 1956 and his 10th chart-topper, Elv1s - 30 #1 Hits, went to No.1 on 12 October 2002 - 46 years 160 days later.
