The most unsuccessful field goals thrown in an NBA career is 13,766 by Kobe Bryant (USA) playing for the LA Lakers between 3 November 1996 to 21 January 2015. Although a record for misses the record is testament to Bryant's long NBA career and his ability that has allowed him to play shooting guard for 19 years. By recording 16 misses in the LA Lakers defeat to Memphis Grizzlies on 11 November 2014 he overtook Boston Celtics John Havlicek who had 13,417 field goal misses. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is 5th on the all-time list of misses (he holds the record for the most scored) while Michael Jordan is 6th on the all-time list.
